Conferences done, classroom left in a mess but will worry about that next week.
Now, what to do with a whole week of wonderful lack-of-schedule-ness. Actually, that is not true. There are orthodontist appointments and some out of town guests coming, a quilt or two that have deadlines...but for the most part, pure bliss of having my own time to decide what I want to do. Hope you all are having free time too!

As for the frustrations of a teacher you shared the other day---I agree that there are only so many days where we can put on the "happy teacher face" before some form of frustration (or much?) finally cracks us. Over the past few weeks, I have also had moments like you've shared. At the end of the day, though, I have been getting much better at forcing myself to think about the opposite end of the spectrum; the students that come everyday wanting to learn and who are also frustrated with the "troublemakers"; I try to think about the parents who do share those much needed words of "my child never loved math until you came along."
So....ENJOY your mental vacation! Can't wait to see what you produce :0)
