a year behind...

I have been watching you all post your steps for Celtic Solstice, they all look great!  I was determined not to start another Bonnie Mystery until I finished the two that are sitting on the shelf in small pieces, Orca Bay and Easy Street.
So, rather than start this year's mystery, I pulled Easy Street off the shelf and worked on two steps.
First I worked on these squares.  Everything was already cut so they went together quickly and easily!  Ok, not so bad, let's try another...
The geese were already pieced so I just needed to sew them to the cream colored bricks (obviously I am not following Bonnie's color scheme for this quilt).  However, I had to dig through my box 4 times to find all the geese and I am still missing 4 of them.  Guess I will go through the box again tomorrow.

All of the above was accomplished after I completed the top and backing for a Community Service Challenge from one of my guilds.  I will post pictures of that as I am loading it onto the quilt frame later this week.  And, before that, I cleaned in my sewing room for more than an hour.  It is still a mess but now I feel like I can at least work in there.

I am feeling the need to clean out some of my UFOs so that I can start a bit fresh in 2014.  Hopefully these two Bonnie Mystery Quilts will at least be tops before 2014 arrives.

  2. Very pretty color scheme. Keep at those UFO's and before you know it, you will be all caught up!

  3. Good for you! I started Celtic Solstice, not sure how it will go. Definitely not using their color scheme.

  4. I was tempted by Bonnie's mystery, too ... but ended up pulling out an old UFO of my own to work on. Keep up the good work. I like your color choices and look forward to seeing your progress.
