Today was another active day in my quilt room. PJs all day and nothing else done around the house!
I was playing in scraps and combining a few patterns. Thanks to Barbara at www.catpatches.blogspot.com I found the "Dream Machines Quilt Pattern". It has a couple of places that I had to redo because the square for making triangle corners were too big. If you are going to make it, drop me a line and I will let you know which two I changed. Then I am using a pattern from a Quilting magazine and replacing some 12 inch blocks with the sewing machines and some of the 6 inch blocks with a spool block which I haven't made any of yet.
I will let you know which pattern it is but I left it upstairs so it will have to wait until tomorrow. I am using only scraps so NO purchases will be made to make the front of this quilt- and hopefully not the back either.
These "Peek-a-boo" blocks were lots of fun. There will be many of them in the quilt.
I also worked on a few Block Lotto blocks but only one came out good enough to enter. In the other two, the whites I chose weren't white enough.
I still have to post it on the blog and hopefully I will be able to make a few more before the end of the month.
You may have noticed that I have added a couple of things to my side bars. One is my Walk/Run miles for 2015. Not off to a huge start yet because it is cold outside and I am a wuss. Also I am being very lazy on my vacation from work. Have to go back on Monday.
The other addition is a list of my quilting supplies that I will acquire in 2015. This is meant to deter me from buying ANY fabric! Though we all know that won't happen. And, I already caved in to the desire for quilting stuff and bought myself a Bonnie Hunter book. I have Orca Bay started and I am sure I could find the printed patterns around here somewhere if I really looked but I was hoping the book would inspire me to work on the quilt!!!! Besides, this is only my second BH book-can you believe that? I really want them ALL!
I did actually put the last few stitches on a baby quilt binding this evening making it my first finish for 2015 but I will have to wait for tomorrow to get a good picture.
I am also going to have to give in and go grocery shopping tomorrow :( That means no PJs all day.
I am loving my quilty start to the new year! Hope you are too!
Happy January
