Saturday

I spent yesterday helping my cousin do her wedding flowers.  (I was a florist in a former life-college and early marriage).
We worked from noon until 9PM.
I had a lot of fabulous helpers: My cousin, her mom, my daughter, my mom and my husband even helped a little bit-he always does!  They did a lot, mostly wrapping individual pieces of the corsages and boutonnieres (Spelling??) so that I could put them all together.  All of our fingers are bare of skin and very sore this morning.
We made 17 boutonnieres, 4 corsages, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 2 maid of honor bouquets, 2 flower girl bouquets, and a bridal bouquet.  She will be doing the flowers for her table on her own.  She is using lovely silk purple and ivory ranunculus.
I didn't want to give too much away since the wedding is still a little ways away but my pictures aren't that great either so you just get a hint on what things really look like.  I am sure I will post much better photos after the wedding!

 Boutonnieres and corsages.

bouquets for attendants and the one with the bow will be her toss bouquet.
That is her great grandmother's bracelet around the handle and there are lovely brooches intersperced with the flowers-some of them family heirlooms.

It is going to be a lovely wedding.  It has been a few years since I did wedding flowers so it was a lot of fun to do them-plus it meant being with family all day.

Oh, I can't forget the flower girls...
I hope they like the little turquoise poofs, just for them!
No quilting this weekend unless I squeeze some in while my family sits through the superbowl-waiting for commercials.  Still- a lot of creative time, so maybe I will make it through the week.
