Christmas Package Block

First cut a variety of 9 inch squares.  Then cut it twice across the square, perpendicular to each other as pictured.  They should be straight but do not have to be a measured intervals.

Reorganize the fabrics so that there are 4 different ones.  I do this by going clockwise-leave one as is, next stack put top one on the bottom, next put top 2 on the bottom and next put top 3 on the bottom.  The picture turned sideways for some reason...

Sew red strips to the top of the bottom two stacks.

Sew the top blocks to the bottoms with the strip in between...

Sew matching red strips to one side...

and then sew the last side on to make the package complete.

Here is a selection of my blocks on the design wall so that you can see how they will look together.

Now we need to square up the blocks to either 9 1/2 inches or 9 inches.

YOU WILL NEED TO CHECK EVERY BLOCK TO MAKE SURE IT WILL TRIM TO THE CORRECT SIZE BEFORE YOU BEGIN!

Then the blocks will be sewn together and borders added.

My goal is to have a completed top by the end of this weekend!
