16th Finish for 2010!

I can't believe it, but I really have finished 16 quilted projects this year.  Some of them were UFOs and many of them were started this year.  Of course, if you read some of my older posts, you will see that I will never get through my list for this year even at this current rate.
This one is a Christmas gift.  Hope the recipient really likes it!

My son said he didn't like having to make a living being an on demand quilt holder.  I told him it wasn't making a living it was helping me and his response was...
"Would you let me keep living if I said no?"
-this from the mouth of a 10 year old-all the while with a smile on his face.  He may look very tall for a 10 year old but he IS a basket ball player-and he is standing on the picnic table.

Here is the back-not sure you can see the quilting but I went around the flowers on the back fabric-not all of them-just enough to have even quilting.

And here is the front quilting.  I think it came out very nicely.  This was after a major talk with Lizzie about her recent behavior and some adjustments that my husband calls "southern engineering".  He can say that because he lived in the south and he is an engineer. One of her sensor rollers was not rolling when you went to the left, only rolled when you went to the right, so he tightened it down with a rubber band and now she is sewing beautifully.  I have had trouble with this specific part since I got the machine so I may end up needing to replace just that part.
Well, with this final gift finished, I am officially done-just have some wrapping left to do and a nice veggie tray to prepare for Christmas Eve.  I have all the stuff for our Christmas dinner on Christmas Day but the hardest part-the main course- my sister is providing.  I think that means I may actually have some free time to work on my Christmas quilt that is still in pieces and to -uggghhh- clean house.  Never too early to start on my new UFO list!  I probably should think about what I am planning on teaching when school starts again...

  1. NO, far too early to start thinking about teaching again! Congratulations on getting another quilt finished in 2010. The quilting looks great.
